Dear Readers,

Issue 2 is finally here! In it are seventeen stunningly unique pieces that we feel so lucky to be giving a home. This release is nestled right in the midst of what is, for many, the busiest time of the year, so we'll keep things brief:

The amount of support we've recieved in just a few short months has been rewarding beyond what words can express. Born in the spring of this year as just a concept, Jelly Squid has grown into something that we feel proud to dedicate our time and energy to and that we hope to continue to work on and nurture for a long time. This second issue feels like a true culmination of everything we've learned and achieved this year, and we can't wait to bring this energy into 2025.

Our theme, "passage," feels fitting for this time of year. This week itself is a precipice of sorts – one that this issue sits upon, surveying its surroundings, the past and the future. The new year is coming, and we are full of uncertainty, longing, dreams, fears, all of these feelings and memories echoing around us like ghosts. We hope this issue presents you an opportunity for stillness. Find a calm moment, sit with these seventeen pieces, and let yourself linger in the passage.

Thank you for supporting us, for sharing your work with us, for reading the work we share with you and sharing it with others – as we've said before, Jelly Squid is a community to us, and we hope to keep building it larger and stronger as time goes on. Thank you all endlessly for a wonderful 2024 – despite what turmoil and chaos will undoubtedly come our way in the next year, we still think the future looks pretty bright.
